As part of the ‘Voyage into the Past’ education program for Year 3 students, this resource provides rich learning ideas for the teacher to use in the classroom, such as: (1) Think, puzzle, explore routine to have students imagine the technologies in existence 150 years ago; (2) Maritime technology mind-map which covers key words under the categories of transportation, communication, daily life and occupations; (3) Changing boat/ship technology where students investigate the different ways of powering vessels; and (4) Morse code as a way of communicating.
